Festival Fete Holiday Market

Much more than a holiday craft fair!

November 29, 2012
One-Stop Holiday Shopping at the Festival Fete Holiday Market on December 1st and 2nd

Don't wait until the last minute to do your holiday shopping this year.  Avoid crowds and stress by taking advantage of a great opportunity to buy the perfect gift for everyone on your list.  Enjoy your friends and family by taking them to the Second annual Festival Fete Holiday Market December 1st and 2nd at the Garden City Center (in the former Borders Bookstore) in Cranston, RI 10-5pm daily.

The art festival will feature over 100 contemporary American art and crafts artists with items big and small including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, sculpture, and home accessories.   While shoppers get a jump on their holiday gift buying, children can visit the Creation Station to make a gift for a loved one.  The show will also feature visits with Santa and FREE gift wrapping.

“The idea behind the Holiday Market is to kick-off the holiday season with a family-focused event.  We want families to come together and enjoy their holiday shopping in a stress-free environment.  We’ve even created an area for kids to make handmade gifts for the special people on their lists,” said Jennifer Neuguth creative director of Festival Fete.

The Holiday Market promises a jovial and cheer-filled atmosphere featuring some of Rhode Island’s most renowned entertainers and artists.  Shoppers will be entertained by the Ladies of the Rolling and the RI Children’s Choir.  Festival visitors will be encouraged to work alongside local artist Lisa May Tobin on an interactive community art project. “We believe there is an artist in everybody, so we’re creating opportunities for festival attendees to express themselves and experience the thrill of creativity,” said Neuguth.

In addition to the juried art and crafts for sale,
1. We donate 10 booth spaces to young artists to show and sell their work, grades 1-12
2. We create a sculpture with the community at the festival and then donate it back to a local establishment like a library
3. We have a Creation Station at each festival where children can make crafts for a donation to Art is Smart  (www.artissmart.com)
4. FREE gift wrapping
5. Entry is a $3 suggested donation to Art is Smart.  Children are free
