From the committee:
The Annual Essay Contest is a rewarding, educational, and creative way for younger generations to educate themselves on and foster an interest in Rhode Island’s and our nation’s history. It not only promotes their abilities to research but it also encourages them to think outside the box, differentiating their work from others’ and making it their own unique composition. Every year, each of the three winners of this contest will not only win a cash prize for their hard work but get a chance to ride in the Gaspee Days Parade, too - what fun!
