EXETER, RI – Wicked Tulips Flower Farm is scheduled to open for the season in early April* as masses of tulips mark the coming of spring at their Exeter, Rhode Island location, the first of their three farms to open each year.

More than 100 unique varieties of early, mid and late blooming tulips appear across the three farms throughout the short season - which lasts about six weeks - in shades ranging from white to dusty rose to purple so dark it appears almost black. Wicked Tulips’ three farms are located in Exeter, Rhode Island, Johnston, Rhode Island and Preston, Connecticut, and open for the season in that order.

Visitors will have an exciting surprise this year - Wicked Tulips’ expanded Johnston, Rhode Island location, the site of their first New England U-Pick farm, has doubled in size with more than 450,000 blooms in 75 unique varieties.

All three farms are also offering a new “Season Pass” enabling visitors unlimited access to all of Wicked Tulips’ farms. Though the pass includes 10 tulips on their first visit, tulips can always be purchased for $1 each.

Owners Jeroen and Keriann Koeman and their team began the first week of November 2023 to clear, grade and condition the soil at each one of Wicked Tulips’ three farms. Then, workers planted more than 1.5 million bulbs. After months of sunlight and rain, the tulips will bloom into a sea of color, evoking a bit of Holland in New England.

Wicked Tulips only allows a limited number of visitors each day so that guests have the opportunity to “tiptoe through the tulips” rain or shine. Each farm is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. while in bloom. Tickets should always be purchased online before visiting.

Aware of how important it is for kids and families to have nature-based experiences, children and teen tickets never sell out. Children under 4 years of age are always free.

ABOUT WICKED TULIPS FLOWER FARM: Jeroen and Keriann Koeman, owners of Wicked Tulips, carry the expertise of a multi-generational family of Dutch tulip growers. They also employ hundreds of seasonal staff which helps to make it a place "where happiness blooms” (their motto!).
